Fort Worth Construction Porta Potty Rentals
Jobsite portable toilet planning for Fort Worth, Euless, Bedford, and Hurst: OSHA unit counts and hand washing, current penalty maximums, city permit portals, summer heat, and site access.

Quick Answer
Texas has no state OSHA plan for private employers, so Fort Worth-area job sites follow federal OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51. It requires toilet facilities for construction workers (one toilet for 20 or fewer, scaling up with crew size), with an exception for mobile crews that have transportation to nearby facilities, and lavatories or washing facilities under 1926.51(f). Plan service frequency for North Texas heat, confirm truck access, and check with your permitting city before placing units in the right-of-way. Pricing varies by provider.
Federal OSHA Rules for Texas Job Sites
Texas is not on OSHA's list of State Plans for private employers, so federal OSHA covers private construction in these cities. 29 CFR 1926.51(c) requires toilet facilities for employees. Mobile crews with transportation readily available to nearby toilet facilities are exempt.
| Number of employees | Minimum facilities (Table D-1) |
|---|---|
| 20 or fewer | 1 toilet |
| 20 or more | 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers |
| 200 or more | 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers |
Count everyone on site at the same time, including subcontractors. See the Texas construction porta potty requirements guide for more detail.
Hand Washing Under 1926.51(f)
1926.51(f) requires lavatories with running water, soap, and individual hand towels at places of employment, with exceptions for mobile crews and normally unattended sites that have transportation to nearby washing facilities. It separately requires washing facilities near the worksite for work with paints, coatings, herbicides, insecticides, or other harmful contaminants. The standard does not name hand wash stations; on sites without plumbing, a portable station next to the toilets is the common way to provide washing facilities. Our Texas hand wash station guide covers placement and servicing.

Current OSHA Penalty Maximums
OSHA's penalties page lists these maximums for penalties assessed after January 15, 2026. Actual penalties depend on the citation, and OSHA adjusts the caps each year for inflation.
City Permit Portals
Each city runs its own building and development process. Portable toilets on a private lot are usually part of the jobsite plan; ask the permitting city before placing units in a street, sidewalk, or other right-of-way.

Development Services takes building, trade, planning, and street use applications through Accela Citizen Access, with the Permit Assist tool to scope which permits a project needs.

Building permits, contractor registration, and right-of-way permits are submitted and tracked through the City's online permit portal. The City also posts stormwater construction site guidelines.

Building permit applications, plan uploads, payments, and inspection requests use the City's Citizen Self-Service (CSS) portal.

Heat, Access & Placement
Summer servicing
North Texas summers are hot, and units used by large crews fill and smell faster. Weekly service is a common baseline; ask about extra visits for big crews and peak heat.
Truck access
Service trucks need a firm, clear path to each unit. Keep units reachable as grading, framing, and paving change the site.
Right-of-way placement
Fort Worth issues separate street use and parkway permits. Ask the permitting city before placing units in a street, sidewalk, or parkway.
Multi-builder subdivisions
On large subdivisions on the edges of Fort Worth, agree who rents and services the units so every crew is covered.
How It's Priced
This guide does not list Fort Worth prices. Construction rentals are usually quoted per unit, per month, with a set service schedule; hand wash stations, ADA units, extra service visits, and delivery distance are often separate lines. See the Texas Porta Potty Rental Cost guide for the factors that move a quote.
